Rajinikanth’s “Jailer” makes overseas history, aims for 200 crores, surpasses “2.0,” becoming top Tamil film with 170+ crores.

Rajinikanth’s film “Jailer” has not only crossed the 500 crore gross mark at the worldwide box office but has also achieved another remarkable milestone. The movie’s success is a testament to Rajinikanth’s incredible comeback and his ability to break existing box office records in the Tamil film industry. Despite being 72 years old, Rajinikanth has proven himself as the ‘SUPERSTAR’ once again, alongside other notable comebacks like Kamal Haasan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Sunny Deol.

With its impressive global box office earnings exceeding 500 crores gross, “Jailer” has now accomplished another significant feat by dominating the overseas market. The film’s overseas collection has surged to a staggering 179 crores gross, surpassing the previous records set by “Ponniyin Selvan 1” (168 crores gross) and “2.0” (174 crores gross). This makes “Jailer” the highest-grossing Tamil film of all time in overseas markets. With its ongoing momentum, the film is anticipated to reach the coveted 200 crores mark.

Recently, Rajinikanth’s gesture of touching the feet of Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath garnered a mix of reactions. Addressing this, Rajinikanth shared that he has a tradition of showing respect to monks by touching their feet, even if they are younger than him. He emphasized that he holds deep respect for monks and sees no issue with this gesture. Speaking to reporters upon his return from Uttar Pradesh, Rajinikanth clarified that he finds it natural to pay his respects to monks, regardless of their age.
