Following the recent launches of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Samsung is gradually gearing up for the introduction of its next flagship lineup, the Galaxy S24 series, anticipated to debut in early 2024. As part of the preparations, Samsung has secured certifications for the batteries intended for use in the upcoming Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphones.
The approval for the batteries has been granted by the South Korean safety certification entity known as Safety Korea. These certified batteries correspond to the specific models of the phones: EB-BS922ABY for the Galaxy S24, EB-BS926ABY for the Galaxy S24+, and EB-BS928ABY for the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Notably, these batteries are believed to be manufactured by the Chinese company ATL (Amperex Technologies Limited).
Although the images available are somewhat unclear, making it challenging to determine the exact capacities of these batteries, additional certifications have indicated that the Galaxy S24+ will incorporate a 4,755mAh battery, while the S24 Ultra will boast a larger 4,855mAh battery capacity. . As a result, it is likely that these two models will be marketed with battery capacities of around 4,900mAh for the Galaxy S24+ and approximately 5,000mAh for the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The specific battery capacity for the base Galaxy S24 variant has yet to be disclosed.
It’s worth noting that all three batteries share a common feature—an easily recognizable blue pull tab—which serves the dual purpose of facilitating battery removal and enhancing repairability. This move by Samsung underscores their commitment to making device repair more convenient. This approach isn’t entirely new, as the Galaxy S23 series also incorporated batteries with similar pull tabs.
In terms of internal hardware, the upcoming Galaxy S24 lineup is expected to be powered by either the Exynos 2400 or the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, the selection of which will depend on the region and country of release.
